China has responded to recent remarks by former U.S. President Donald Trump, who said the United States could take “very strong action” against Iran if the Iranian authorities execute more protesters amid ongoing unrest in the country.

Addressing the issue, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning said that China has already made its position on the situation in Iran clear on multiple occasions.
