Jupiter Tatravagonka Railwheel Factory Secures INR 113 Crore Order from Ministry of Railways

National, 11th September 2025: Jupiter Wagons Limited (JWL) has announced a significant milestone for its unlisted material subsidiary, Jupiter Tatravagonka Railwheel Factory Private Limited (JTRFPL). The company has received a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from the Ministry of Railways, Railway Board, dated 9th September 2025, for the supply of 9,000 LHB axles for FIAT-IR bogies. The order is valued at approximately INR 113 crore.

This order highlights the growing role of Jupiter Group in strengthening India’s passenger rail ecosystem. The advanced precision-engineered axles will be a critical component in enhancing the performance, safety, and durability of the modern LHB coach fleet, which is at the core of Indian Railways’ long-term modernization plan.

The contract further consolidates Jupiter Wagons’ presence in the rail components segment, especially for passenger rolling stock. The group already operates its Aurangabad facility with a capacity of delivering 10,000 wheelsets per year. In line with its long-term capacity-building strategy, the company is also investing INR 2,500 crore in Odisha to establish a world-class forged axle and wheel manufacturing facility. Scheduled to be operational by 2027, this facility will have the capability to produce 100,000 forged wheelsets annually. These wheelsets will cater to both domestic requirements and international markets, including the European Union. This project is expected to play a pivotal role in reducing India’s dependency on imports while strengthening domestic manufacturing, aligning with the government’s Make in India vision.
