IRFC Q4 Results: Net Profit Falls 2.1% YoY to Rs 1,682 Crore But Provisions up Massive 634%!

In a mixed set of results for the fourth quarter of FY25, the Indian Railway Finance Corporation (IRFC) has posted steady revenue growth but a slight dip in profitability.

According to the earnings report, IRFC’s revenue for Q4FY25 stood at ₹6,723 crore, marking a 3.8% increase from ₹6,475 crore reported in the same quarter of the previous year (Q4FY24). This indicates consistent growth in the company’s core operations.

However, Profit After Tax (PAT) saw a minor decline. PAT for Q4FY25 came in at ₹1,682 crore, down by 2.1% compared to ₹1,717 crore in Q4FY24. While not drastic, the dip signals pressure on profitability.

One of the more striking numbers was the surge in provisions, which soared by 634.8%, rising from ₹0.46 crore in Q4FY24 to ₹3.38 crore in Q4FY25. This suggests a more conservative financial stance, likely preparing for future uncertainties.

On a full-year basis, IRFC reported a robust net profit of ₹6,502 crore for FY2025, underlining the company’s solid financial foundation despite quarterly fluctuations.

Looking ahead, IRFC has unveiled an ambitious market borrowing plan of up to ₹60,000 crore for FY2025-26, reflecting strong growth aspirations and future funding needs for railway projects.

Additionally, a key leadership change has been announced with the appointment of Shri Randhir Sahay as Director (Finance), a move that is expected to further strengthen IRFC’s financial strategies.

After the Q4 Results Shares of IRFC limited Falls 1.3% and trading at ₹127.7 per Share
