The United States' latest tariff policies have ignited a wave of dissatisfaction among its major trading partners, with China and Japan leading the charge in voicing their opposition.  

China's Firm Stance

China's Commerce Ministry has strongly condemned the US' unilateral tariff measures, labeling them as "typical unilateral bullying." In a statement, the ministry emphasized its commitment to safeguarding its rights and interests through countermeasures. It also urged the US to cancel the tariffs immediately and resolve trade disputes through equal dialogue.  

We firmly oppose this and will resolutely take countermeasures to safeguard our rights and interests,the ministry stated.  

The Chinese government highlighted that many trading partners share its dissatisfaction, signaling a broader discontent with US trade policies.  

Japan's Persistent Negotiations

Meanwhile, Japan's Economy Minister has reiterated calls for the US to exempt Japan from the tariff measures, describing the move as "extremely regrettable." The minister affirmed that Japan would continue negotiations with the US to address the issue.  

We will keep persistently negotiating with the US on tariffs,The minister said.  

Japan's appeal reflects its concern over the potential economic impact of the tariffs, which could disrupt bilateral trade relations.
