For the first time in history,  JSW MG Motors sold more electric vehicles than electric vehicle giant Tata Motors in April 2025. In April 2025, JSW MG Motors sold 5829 units. JSW MG  Motors Company's main strength is Windsor EV, which has emerged as a rockstar in the indian electric car segment. And soon JSW MG will launch more advanced Windsor Pro, and the best thing about Windsor Pro is that this car is likely to offer adas suite along with V2L among other features.

If we talk about Tata Motors, which is another prominent player in the indian electric vehicle segment and the company has a strong advantage of first mover because the company started to manufacture electric vehicles in 2020, and since then company has maintained the no 1 position in the EV segment with market share of more than 80%, but JSW MG's aggressive expansion towards the electric vehicle segment is killing Tata Motors EV market Share.

In April 2025, Tata Motors' electric vehicle sales were down by 16%, and this is not the first time since October 2024, Tata Motors has been continuously losing its market share. In April 2025, Tata Motors sold 5318 units of electric vehicles, which is down by 16%, as we mentioned earlier.

As of March 2025, Tata Motors has an EV market share of 38.15%, followed by JSW MG 31.475% and Mahindra and Mahindra 15.76%

Now in April, JSW MG Motors has been overtaken by Tata Motors and is becoming the king in the electric vehicle segment.  Now, in the coming time, all eyes are on Tata Motors management to see how they will overcome this issue, and the Tata Harrier, Tata Safari electric vehicle models are still pending, so all eyes are on the launch date and these new models; could boost Tata EV market share.
