China Responds to Zelenskyy’s Remarks on Ukraine-China Relations

During a recent press conference in Brussels, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy claimed that there is no permanent dialogue between the leadership of Ukraine and China. He also alleged that China is providing assistance to Russia, enabling Moscow to continue its aggressive war against Ukraine.

In response, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun addressed the remarks, stating that China’s position on the Ukraine crisis has always been based on the true merits of the issue. Guo emphasized that China has been working relentlessly to promote a ceasefire and peace talks between the parties involved.

He further highlighted that China’s efforts speak for themselves, as the country continues to call for peace and dialogue. Guo reiterated that China remains committed to playing a constructive role in promoting de-escalation and achieving a political settlement to the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

Guo also underlined that China’s approach has consistently focused on promoting stability, dialogue, and diplomatic solutions, rather than confrontation or division. The spokesperson reaffirmed that China’s objective remains to help bring an end to hostilities and foster conditions for lasting peace in the region.
