Bitcoin Nears All-Time High as Trump Announces Crypto Bill and Treasury Deal

The cryptocurrency market has seen a dramatic surge, with the total market capitalization climbing to approximately $3.4 trillion. This marks a staggering increase of around $1 trillion, or 42%, since its recent low on April 8th. The market now stands just $240 billion, or about 6%, below its peak recorded in December 2024.

This impressive rally has been driven not just by Bitcoin, but also by strong performances across the broader crypto space. Excluding Bitcoin, the market has grown by $319 billion, reflecting a 35% gain. However, despite this rise, the market cap excluding Bitcoin remains approximately $380 billion, or 25%, below its all-time high reached in November 2021, and $381 billion under the December 2024 peak.

Bitcoin continues to lead the charge and is at the forefront of this market resurgence. A major catalyst fueling optimism is the recent announcement by Trump Media of a $2.5 billion Bitcoin treasury deal. The company stated that this is "one of the largest Bitcoin treasury deals of any public company" and represents a significant institutional endorsement of the digital asset.

Adding to the momentum, U.S. President Trump is reportedly backing Bitcoin, a move that sends a strong signal to investors and institutions alike. This political and corporate embrace of Bitcoin further strengthens its position as a mainstream asset and underpins the belief that cryptocurrencies are entering a generational bull run.

With fresh capital inflows, increasing institutional involvement, and a rapidly growing investor base, the crypto market appears to be heading toward new all-time highs. The recent surge suggests that this may be just the beginning of a much larger movement in the digital asset space.
