Quant Flexi Cap Mutual Fund December Portfolio: Top Holdings, Futures Bets and Cash Position Explained

Quant Flexi Cap Mutual Fund has released its December portfolio disclosure, offering fresh insights into how the fund repositioned its holdings amid changing market conditions. The latest data highlights notable shifts in equity exposure, futures positioning, and cash allocation compared to the previous month.

As per the December portfolio, the top three equity holdings of the fund are Reliance Industries, Samvardhana Motherson International, and Adani Power. These stocks continue to form the core of the fund’s equity strategy, reflecting the fund manager’s conviction in large-cap and select industrial and energy-linked businesses despite ongoing market volatility.

In addition to its cash equity holdings, Quant Flexi Cap Mutual Fund has taken a significant futures exposure during the month. The fund added an additional 12 percent long position through futures in select stocks, including Kotak Mahindra Bank, ICICI Bank, Aurobindo Pharma, and Bajaj Auto. This futures-based positioning suggests a tactical bullish view on banking, pharmaceuticals, and automobile sectors, allowing the fund to increase market exposure without proportionately deploying cash.

Cash allocation also witnessed notable movement over the past three months. The fund’s cash holding declined sharply from 2.07 percent in October to 0.6 percent in November, indicating aggressive deployment during that period. However, in December, the cash position rose to 3.34 percent, suggesting a more cautious approach amid market uncertainty or in anticipation of better entry opportunities going forward.

The December disclosure also shows several changes in individual stock positions compared to November. Some stocks witnessed complete exits, while others saw fresh additions or trimming of holdings. Stocks with no change in holdings compared to November have not been listed in the disclosure highlights, keeping the focus strictly on active portfolio actions taken during the month.

Overall, the December portfolio of Quant Flexi Cap Mutual Fund reflects a dynamic strategy combining high-conviction equity holdings, tactical futures exposure, and flexible cash management. The increase in cash levels and selective use of derivatives indicate that the fund is balancing risk while staying prepared to capitalize on emerging opportunities in the market.
