Eicher Motors – Royal Enfield Roars Ahead
Eicher Motors, the maker of Royal Enfield, reported a robust 26% year-on-year (YoY) growth in total motorcycle sales, reaching 89,429 units in May 2025 compared to 71,010 units in the same month last year.
International business was a standout performer, surging 82% YoY to 13,609 units from 7,479 units.
Eicher’s joint venture with VECV also showed healthy growth, with total commercial vehicle sales rising 7.3% YoY to 7,402 units.
Escorts Kubota – Stable Tractor Growth
Escorts Kubota posted a modest 0.7% YoY growth in tractor sales, with 10,354 units sold in May 2025 compared to 10,286 units last year. While growth was flat, the numbers indicate stability in rural and agri demand.
TVS Motor – Strong Show Across Segments
TVS Motor Company delivered an impressive performance across all major categories in May 2025:
Total sales up 17% YoY at 4.31 lakh units vs 3.69 lakh units.
Two-wheeler sales rose 16% to 4.16 lakh units.
Electric vehicle (EV) sales jumped 50% YoY to 27,976 units, reflecting increasing EV adoption.
Exports climbed 22%, reaching 1.18 lakh units.
Three-wheeler sales also soared by 46% YoY to 15,109 units.
Tata Motors – Overall Decline in Sales
Tata Motors reported a drop in May 2025 sales across all major categories:
Total sales declined by 8.6% YoY to 70,187 units from 76,766 units.
Domestic sales were down 10%, clocking 67,429 units.
Passenger vehicle (PV) sales fell 11% YoY to 42,040 units.
Commercial vehicle (CV) sales decreased by 5% to 28,147 units.
Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) – Strong Growth in Both Auto and Tractor Segments
M&M Auto Segment:
Overall sales rose 17% YoY to 84,110 units.
Passenger vehicle sales jumped 21% YoY to 52,431 units.
Exports surged 37%, reaching 3,652 units.
Three-wheeler sales climbed 11% to 6,635 units.
M&M Tractor Segment:
Posted a solid 10% YoY growth, selling 40,643 units in May 2025 vs 37,109 units a year ago.
