Blinkit and Lenskart Launch 10-Minute Delivery of Power Eyeglasses in India

In a groundbreaking development for India’s eyewear industry, Blinkit, the country’s leading quick-commerce platform, has partnered with Lenskart, India’s largest eyewear retailer, to introduce 10-minute delivery of prescription-free power eyeglasses. The service, launched on August 22, 2025, is currently available across major cities including Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata.

This partnership marks a significant shift in how consumers access eyewear, eliminating the long wait times and traditional processes usually associated with purchasing glasses.

10-Minute Delivery of Power Eyeglasses

Blinkit now delivers Lenskart power eyeglasses with pre-set prescriptions ranging from -0.25 to -1.5 diopters. Customers do not need a prescription, making it a hassle-free solution for those requiring mild vision correction for nearsightedness (myopia). The ultra-fast delivery aligns with Blinkit’s existing model, which already provides groceries, electronics, and essentials in under 10 minutes.

How the Service Works

The service can be accessed via the Blinkit mobile app. Customers simply select their eyeglass power from the available options (-0.25, -0.50, -0.75, -1.0, -1.5) and choose a preferred frame color. Once the order is placed, Blinkit ensures delivery within 10 minutes using its extensive network of warehouses and delivery partners.

Geographical Coverage

Currently, the service is live in seven metropolitan regions: Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Pune, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Kolkata. This coverage is designed to target urban consumers who prioritize convenience and speed, fitting seamlessly into the fast-paced lifestyles of city dwellers.

Product Offering

The eyeglasses offered under this partnership are part of Lenskart’s established portfolio, known for high-quality lenses and trendy frame styles. These products are meant for individuals with mild vision correction needs, including zero-power and low-power glasses. The partnership may also expand to include Lenskart’s Hustlr range of computer glasses and sunglasses, which Blinkit began delivering in April 2024.

Customer Convenience

The no-prescription approach is one of the most appealing aspects of this initiative. Customers no longer need to undergo an eye test or consult a doctor for minor vision correction. This makes the service ideal for those who may have misplaced their glasses, damaged a pair, or simply want an extra set for everyday use.

Background on the Partnership

Blinkit, formerly known as Grofers, has built a reputation as a pioneer in India’s quick-commerce industry, offering 10-minute delivery for groceries, electronics, and daily essentials. The company has steadily expanded its reach into non-traditional categories such as fashion and now eyewear, leveraging its robust logistics system.

Lenskart, founded in 2010 by Peyush Bansal, Amit Chaudhary, and Sumeet Kapahi, has become a dominant force in the eyewear market. Headquartered in Gurugram, the company operates more than 2,000 stores and maintains a strong digital presence. It is vertically integrated, designing, manufacturing, and selling eyewear with a massive facility in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, that produces up to 5 crore glasses annually. Known for innovations like AI-powered face analysis, 3D Try-On, and Blu lenses for blue light protection, Lenskart has reshaped how Indians buy eyewear.

This collaboration is not the first between the two companies. In April 2024, Blinkit began delivering Lenskart sunglasses and Hustlr computer glasses within 10 minutes, laying the foundation for the current expansion into power eyeglasses.

Why This Matters

Traditionally, purchasing eyeglasses requires visiting an optician, undergoing an eye test, and waiting days for delivery. Blinkit and Lenskart are disrupting this model by offering instant access to glasses without prescriptions. The 10-minute delivery redefines convenience and reflects the growing demand for immediate solutions in e-commerce.

The service specifically targets urban professionals, students, and digital-first consumers who spend long hours in front of screens and often experience early-stage myopia. By offering power ranges between -0.25 and -1.5 diopters, the service meets the needs of younger demographics increasingly impacted by screen-related vision issues.

For Blinkit, this move strengthens its position in India’s competitive quick-commerce market, where rivals like Zepto have also introduced ultra-fast delivery models, including 10-minute medicine delivery. For Lenskart, the tie-up boosts its omnichannel presence by complementing its network of stores and online platforms.

Potential Challenges and Considerations

Despite its innovative appeal, the service faces a few challenges. Its limited prescription range of -0.25 to -1.5 diopters excludes customers with higher prescriptions or complex vision needs such as astigmatism or hypermetropia. Those requiring precise prescriptions must still rely on Lenskart stores or home eye-test services offered by certified optometrists.

Concerns also remain around quality and accuracy. While Lenskart is recognized for high-quality lenses, some customers have previously raised issues about frame durability and inconsistent service at physical outlets. Moreover, the no-prescription approach may lead to inappropriate lens choices if customers are unaware of their exact vision requirements.

On the logistics side, delivering eyeglasses in just 10 minutes demands careful inventory management and efficient last-mile delivery. In less densely populated areas, meeting this promise could strain Blinkit’s operations. Lenskart’s past franchise disputes, such as those reported in Karnataka in October 2024, could also pose hurdles if unresolved.
